TO THE EDITOK OP "THE PRESS." Sir. —May I ask you to kindly publish the following extract from the "Ashburton Guardian" of August 29th. (Hinds, it may be noted, is right in the .middle of the Ashburton Electorate): i "On Sunday night the Rev. Mr Rogers preached his farewell sermon in St. Luke's Church, Hinds, to a satisfactory congregation, from Psalms cxlx, 1. He urged all to enter the only wny to life eternal. He enumerated all the obstacles which prevented people entering the way. He denounced drunkenness in vigorous terms, and urged all to ehan the temptation which he believed was greater in a district where there were no licensed houses." —Yours, etc., E. NORDON, Sec.
