The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, P. M. Powell; vice-prcoideata, .-eesrs E. R. "Wait* and \V. H. Benson; treasurer, Mr F. Cordery; hon. auditor, Mr Lindsay "J committee (trade members), Messrs C. L. Black, E. Hinds, F. li. Jones, J. A. Philp, (private members) Messrs C. Bonnington, Atkinson, Manning _nd Araiitage; secretary, Mr B. Harding. GENERAL. It was decided thai Rule 18 should be amended; making it necessary for a'J accounts to be passed by the committee before payment. Messrs ii. A. Benzoni, A. 11. Berrvman, ".V. L. Watson, G. R..Clarkson, A. J. Harper, and J. Mcßa« were ejected new members of the club. It was pointed out that the treasurer's duties had beepmo very onerous, and a suggestion to giant hitu an honorarium was referred to the new committee as 'a recommendation from tho _nnual meeting. Mr Benson spoke strongly of a certain flection of the club members who were making unjustifiable allegations about members of tiie committee. The members alluded to were somewhat revolutionary in their ideas, and he thought they hardly knew what the/ wanted themselves. He understood that they had come there to put certain of the old committee men off and elect a new committee, but he said that that was what had been done last year and several of the new men had been exceedingly lax in attending committee meetings. The suggestions that , had been thrown out were that some of the oommitt-eo were supposed to b« working in the interests of certain motor linns. Mr Biack s*:d that all members of the committee worked for the genera! good of the club, and did not exhibit any prejudice or bias, in favour of any particular firm. Mr English made an earnest appeal to the club to work together. They wanted all the members they could get. for the number at present was a very small percentage of the Christchurch motor cyclists. Legislation would shortly be enacted in the direction of motor taxation, and it behoved every motor cyclist to join the club and combine for purposes of defence. Tbe speaker referred to the necessity of popularising the 3port, otherwise the apathy that had been shown last season would soon cause the club to bo on the down grade. Several suggestions were mad© for new events for the coming season, and it wa3 announced that the sub-oonimitteo set up to report on the suitability of the -various local tracks for motor racing' had not yet. reported. Mr Donaldson, following up tho suggestion of getting club roms, made a strong appeal for amalgamation with the Pioneer Cycle Clu-b, which had excellent accommodation and wa_ willing to amalgamate. It was decided to recommend the incoming committee to re-consider the question of amalgamation. The ex-president, Mr English, then presented tiie Very handsome prizes won during thi* sea-eon, and the proceeding, terminated with a hearty vote of thanks to for his good work in the past.
