Tho American attorney, Mr Jerome, has obtained another writ of habeas corpus with the object of having Thaw produced in court on the ground of an alleged faulty indictment. (Received August 31st, 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, August 30. Tho New York State authorities petitioned the Canadian Government for tho return of Thaw on the ground that he is an escaped lunatic. Tho Department of Justice announced, however, that it would leavo the caso at Sherbrooke in tho judge's hands for tho present.
