Bates, Government Meteorologist, eupplicd the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday: — Tho winds havo been moderate to etrong and variable, with southerly breezes predominating. Tho weather haa been cold, unsettled, and showery, especially on tho East Coast. The barom-eter α-oeo during tho but fell slightly in tho South to-day. Present indications aro for a falling barometer everywhere coon for a westerly difituxbanoo likely to pass in tho South after from thirty-six to forty-eight hours, variable and atronj? broezog giving place shortly to increasing northexlice, with milder temperature, increasing cloudiness, and rain later.
