LADIES' HOCKEY.
REPRESENTATIVE GAME
SENIORS v. JUNIORS
The game between representatives of the two grades, playeu on tho I'oio Ground on Saturday afternoon, provided excellent hockey. Although it looked, soon after tho commencement, as though the seniors were- going to win very easily, the juniors made an excellent showing, and towards the finish wore having decidedly the better of the play. A weakness iv the junior ranks was tile way in which the senior right wing was left unmarked during the first half, and this resulted in numerous rushes into tho junior end coining from that quarter unopposed. Tho defence of tho juniors was excellent and compared more than favourably with that of their opponents, whose scores were mostly tho result of individual stick play in the circle, Miss Kruse scoring the four goals obtained. In the field tho senior forwards gave a number of nice exhibitions of clever passing, but the right wing might with advantage have passed more frequently. In the juniors the play of Miss Dalley was excellent, and she not only kept her opposing half busy, but frequently beat her ami set her forwards going. <The game ended in a win for the seniors by 1 goals, all scored by Miss Kruse, to 2 goals, shot by Misses Dalley and Martiu. Mr C. Wykes was referee.
