A report by the sub-committee for religious education was read and adopted, inclusive of a recommendation that the sum set apart for grants for apparatus should be applicable to all Sunday-schools, except in cures having church day schools, and that country schools should receive preference in the case of conflicting claims. A loan of £125 on the ten years' scale was recommended to be made to the Parish of Fendalton, tor the enlargement of the school at Wroxton, subject to the approval of the plan by the Plans Committee. Also, a loan of £35 to the district of Governor's Bay, on the five years' scale, for re-roofing and repairs to the church, Gebbio's Valley. Report was made tnat the Tunnel Hall, Otira, had been sold to the Railway Department for £IVO. Permission was granted for the erection of a hall on the ounday-school site, Hokitika, subject to the "approval of the trustees. It was agreed that travelling expenses of the members of the Board of Nomination should be net from the surp'us of the Church Property Trust subsidy, Advances of stipend, etc., were reported, and the committee adjourned.
