SUFFRAGE BILL REJECTED
LONDON, May 7
Mr Asquith, in the House of Commons, said that he regretted to be at variance with his colleagues on women's franchise, but the Opposition was just as much divided.
The amendment of Air Arnold Ward, the Unionist member for West Herts, to reject the Representation of Women Bill, was carried by 266 votes to 219.
