SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday: — The barometer has been very unsteady everywhere, and is now falling about Cook Strait. The weather has been very changeable, showery in the southernmost districts, and in scattered districts, but fair weather and variable winds have prevailed. Present indications are for a further decrease in barometer pressure in the North, but a Tapid ris«e shortly in the South. Southerly winds will probably increase/ and veer to south-easterly in the southern districts coon, and, elsewhere after about twenty hours. UnBctt'cd. cold ami showery weather is probable genorally.
