SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weathor summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday:— Low pressure- has continued in this norlii for an unusual time. Strong eou-therly winds and cold and showery weather have prevailed, but the winds and weather have moderated somewhat. to-day in many parts of the country. Present indications aro for a temporally improvement in the weather. A redistribution of pressure will- probably take plaoo, the barometer rising temporarily in the noj-th and falling elowly for a ehort time in the south. Cold and changeab'e weather with moderate to strong and more variable winde will rule in the immediate future.
