(sWECtsI. TO "TBB WURSB.") •AUCKLAND, March 22. Splendid weather was experienced for tho opening day of the A.R.C. Autumn Meeting, and tho track was in good order. The new totalisator was in operation for the first' time and appeared to work without a bitch. The sum of £32,538 10s waa handled, as against J&0.921 last year. When the horses went out for their preliminaries in the Easter Handicap, the appearance of Bobrikoff was greeted with cheers, and tho black champion received - an encore as he quietly cantered down the straight. When Lloyds and. Sandy Paul fell in the Brighton Hurdles, neither J. Deerev nor" A. Julian was injured,, but- Sandy Paul -received a nasty cut above the near knee,' which may necessitate his retirement for some time. After some delay the field moved off in good order, Tact being the first to show out. She piloted the field for three furlongs, when she was joined by Jack Delaval, and the pair carried on the running to the ntraight, with Haskayne and Bleriot most prominent of the others. Entering the straight Potoa could be seen'moving through the field, but once inside the distance Jack Delaval drew away, and finishing in good style won by two lengths from Bleriot, who beat Tact by half a length for eccond place.
