(BY OCR COMMEECIAL EDITOR.) I Tharsday Evening. The business in the grain market has been interrupted by the Easter holidays and little will be done till at least the middle of next month. A quantity of wheat has changed hands during the week though the demand has not been very keen. Growers are holding {irmly for their own prices, and these ha.ye shown a firmer tendency despite the fact that*buyers have shown a disposition to ease off in their operations. Tuscan wheat has sold up to 3s 7d at country stations, lines havuig made this figure in the Waikari and Southbridge districts. There is nothing fresh to report in other lines. The undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers at country stations free of commission, except where otherwise stated: — New Wheat—Tuscan 3s 6Jd to 3s 7d, Hunters 3s 6|d to 3s 7d, Pearl 3s 7d to 3s 7|d at country stations.
