THE REFORM LEAGUE.

A MAORI BRANCH FORMED. (special to "the press.") ROTORUA, February 25. A meeting of chiefs of various tribes was held at Whakarcwarewa last night, when the' Reform Government organiser, Mr Li'ndegreen, addressed the gathering. Meta Tau Popoki presided, and the meeting, .was largely attended. The organiser briefly explained the objects of-the Reform League, and after several questions had been asked and answered it was decided to form -a branch of ' the New Zealand Political Reform League at Whakarcwarewa. Tho several native speakers expressed approval of the decision arrived at, and confidence in Mr Massey and his colleagues, pointing out that they believed Mr Massey would act fairly to the native race, and in the best interests of the whole of tho people of this Dominion. The old Government, they said, had not done so. and they had no faith in them, so they were, therefore, present to organise and help the Massey Government to retain power. The organiser was requested to convey their greetings to Mr Massey and his supporters in the House, arid the tribes' loyalty to the Reform Party.
