IN DIVORCE.
(Before his Honour Mr Justice Denniston.) „ . KERR v. KERR. Iluhy Ltirline Kerr, for whom Mr Cassidy appeared, petitioned for a djvorco from Albert Charles Hamilton Kerr on the grounds of habitual drunkenness and habitual cruelty towards her by using abusive, offensive, and threatening language to her, and beating her. Petitioner, giving evidenco in support of her petition, said that the parties were married on January 22nd, 1907, and that after their marriage they lived at New Brighton and Burwood. There was one child issuo of the marriage. Evidence in support of the petition was given by John Reid and Constable Rowe. Petitioner was granted a decree nisi, with leavo to move to make absolute at the end of three months, with costs on the lowest scale against respondent, and petitioner to have custody of the child of the marriage. KITCHENS v. HITCHENS. Tho ground of Jenny Hitchens's petition for a divorce from Frank Nicholls Kitchens was desertion. Petitioner said sho was married to respondent at Christchurch on December 3rd, 1903. There was no issue of the marriage. After their marriage the parties lived together at Christchurch. In or about the month of May, 1907, respondent wilfully deserted petitioner without just cause, and had continued to do so. Corroborative evidence of petitioner's statement was adduced by two other witnesses. A decree nisi, with leavo to move to mnko absolute nt the end of three months, was granted.'with costs against respondent on the lowest scale. Mr Alpers appeared for petitioner.
