HASTINGS, February 11. The worK oi the new butchers at the local neezing works continues, to improve and some very good tallies aro | being recorded. Thirteen butcher-.; j were on the boards at Paki Paki yesterday, the highest tally being 54, and sixteen men were slaughtering to-day. ! Eleven bundled and seventy-five .sheep j wen- put through at Toinonna yester- ! day. the situation in regard to the strike was discussed at a meeting of the Hawke's. Bay Slieepowner.s' Union this aiternoon. The meeting was not open to the Press, but at the conclusion the secretary stated that the following resolution had been unanimously passed. •That this meeting of sheepowners approves of the stand taken up by the freezing companies in regard to the strike oi slaughtermen, and proposes to support the companies to their utmost in the, event ot their active support being required."
