A meeting of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Union was held'on Saturday evening, Mr S. Roscoe (president) in the chair. Mr C. Timpacn, organiser, reported having visited various stations and farms in the district and had niet with marked success. Ho had appointed agents in the districts visited, and enrolled over 200 members. Tho secretary (Mr E. Kennedy*) was appointed delegate to the Conference of Unions convened by the Federation of Labour in "Wellington on the 21st inst. Two more, or--'giinisers wero appointed, one for tho threshing mills nnd one for the grass--1 seeders on the Peninsula.

The fortnightly meeting of tho Loyul City of Norwich Juvenile Lodge of Otfrtfeliows, Manchester Unity, was held on Monday, N.G., Bro. W. Ralnh presiding over a full meeting. Carrel! installed the officers.

Th« Canterbury Agricultural College Board of Governors met Yesterday. Present:—Tho Hon. E. C. J. Stevens (chairman), ani Messrs John Rennie, H. A. Knixbt. O. Blackley, M. Murphy. John Deans, and the director. Mr R. H. Rhodes (Timaru - ) took his seat en the board. A tender of £280 was accepted for cleaning and painting the interior of the College. Tlie estimates for the ensuing year wero adopted. A summary of the stock and crops «a ihe College and their estimated value was approved. The director reported that the College had commenced tne year's work with the full complement of 52 students. There were 11 additional applicants, but these will have to await vacancies. Accounts amounting to £247 2s were passed lor payment. The Hope of Christ church Lodge, 1.0.G.T.. held its usual session in tho Manchester Chambers, Bro. Whitcher, C.T., presiding. Greetings were received from the MvfHc Tie, Pride of Auckland. Ark of Eden. Star of Newton. Auckland, Dunedin, and Pioneer Wellington Lodges. A Dutch auction was carried out. The debate was postponed till a future date.
