The brigade effected a good save at the Crystal Palace Theatre, and confined the fire to the film room and Winter Garden, which were practically destroyed. Tin* glass roof of the Winter Garden collapsed under the weight of water, and full on the heads of the firemen, knocking them .over and denting their helmets. The theatre was packed at the time of the outbreak, but was quietly cleared. Thero was no panic. The damage is heavy.
