CANTERBURY v. SOUTH CANTERBURY.
(press association tbmegbam.) TIMARU, December 23. A cricket match was commenced today at Toniuka between Canterbury and South Canterbury in fino weather, but beforo a poor attendance. South Canterbury batted first and made 80 (Donolnn* 25, Ferguson 14). Bennett got six wickets for 28 and Sandman four for 42. Canterbury made SJ'/U (Hayes 82, Caygill 70, Norman 31, itix 20, 'Taylor 15, Sandman 14). O'Callaghan got eight wickets for 03, and Ferguson two for 44. South Canterbury in their second inninga had 63 on tho board for four (Crammond 26), when stumps wero drawn. The match will bo concluded to-morrow, after which the Canterbury team go to Dunedin and play Otago.
