PPOINTMENTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS.

A meeting of tho Board of Governors of Canterbury College, was held yesterday. Present—Mr J. C. Adams (chairman), Bishop Grimes, Dean Harper, Dr. Lester, Mosars T. H. Davey, M.P., T. W. Adams, W. Brock, S. H. Seager, G. Rennie, W. H. Montgomery, .J. L Scott, and H. D. Acland. It was decided that the following lecturers and assistant lecturers should be re-appoint«d for the year 1913:—-Lec-turer in Jurisprudence and Law, T. A. Murphy, at £275 per annum; Lecturer in Accountancy and Accounting, J. Morrison, at £150 per annum; Lecturer in Music, Dr. J. C Bradshnw, at £220 per annum; Lecturer in Mental Science, C. F. Salmond, at £400 per annum; Lecturer in Education, T. S. Foster, without salary; Assistant Lecturer in Law, T. W. Howe,'at £170 per annum; Assistant to Professors .•>£ English and Classics, T. W. Cane, at £200 per annum ; Assistant to Professor of Economics, A. W. Shrimpton, at £50 per annum. Entrance scholarships at the Girls' High School, were awarded to tho following girls:—Nell Mutter (East Chr.'stchurch School); Dorothy Talbot (Elmwood School); Thyra sliles (Elmwouo. School); and Annie Wilson (Opawa School. The tender of H. Pearce (£3277) for tho erection of additions to tho School of Engineering was accepted. Recommendations from the Museum and Library Committee with respect to the Public Library, wero considered in committee, and utimately referred back to the Committee.
