Robertson bad accepted tlio position of senior house snrgeor;, and the coniinittfc recommended that tbe salary should be £170 instead of £150. The "solicitors had been instructed to take action against certain persons who had not paid maintenance charges at tho hospital. Tbe report was adopted. The Public Health Committee reported that at the hist meeting of tho Board it was decided, on the recommendation of the. District Health Officer, to give notice to the owner of a property at Rangiora that tho building had been condemned, and must ho milled down within *J8 days. Tbo owner's solicitors had written to say that their client objected to comply with the request, and proposed to contest any application made to the mn.gisi trato under (section 00 of tho Public Health Act. Tbe precautions taken had considerably nbntcul the :ao?qnito pest at Bottle Lake Hospital. There wen; fourteen patients in "that institution at present. Tiie new shelters at i the. Sanatorium were nearing com- ' pletion. and the Board was asked to ! consider whether it v.ould not be j:dvisnblo to erect more shelters for women, as there were .several waiting to l)e admitted. i The report was adopted, and it was decided/ to 'instruct the 'solicitors to proceed, wjth the case under the Public Health Act. .SUBSIDY WANTED. A deputation, consisting of the chairman of the Kowaj County Council and the chairman of the Amberley Town Board, waited upon the Board' to nsk ; ior a subsidy for a medical man for I Amborley and tho .surrounding districts.
