When two hundred miles south, soundings showed a rocky ridgo at a depth of 700 fathoms, extending almost duo north and south. Tho present .charts- show a depth of 1500 to 2000 fathoms over this area. Possibly Captain Diedrichon, a Norwegian whaler at present in Now Zealand, will superintend the- Aurora's I whaling operations.
