ARCHITECTS' CONFERENCE.
(rRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, November 27. The Conference of the New Zealand Architect-' Institute was held in the Town Hall to-day. Mr A. Atkins, president (Wellington), was in the chair.. A deputation of builders requested that certificates of Completion should be issued by architects, limiting the builders' liabilities, which at present extend even after the certificate of payment has been issued. The deputation, which was headed by Mr Lindsay, President o£ the New Zealand Builders' Association, also requested that passing of plans by local authorities should be attended to by architects, and not builders. These matters will.bo considered by the Executive. Tho following office-bearers wero elected: —President, Mr P. ■Y. Wales (Dunedin); hon. secretary, Mr R. F. Bacon (Wellington)'hon. treasurer, Mr F. de J. Clcre (Wellington); auditor-, Messrs Badham and Biss (Wellington). Messrs Cecil Trevithick, A.R.1.8.A. and A. P. Wilson (Auckland), J. T. Mirr, A.R.1.8.A. (Wellington), J. E. Roe (Hawera), E. Ariscombe (Dunedin) pron_6ted from associate, were elected ! fellows, and Messrs H. C. Grierson, W. L. Fletcher. F. L. Moodier, R. A. Abbott, T. H. Bates, and N. Carryer (Auckland), Henri Bastings (Greymouth), H. McD. Smith (Invercargill), and W. S. Anderson were elected associates.
