ATTEMPTED ESCAFE FROM INVERCARGILL REFORMATORY
(srECIAI. TO "TUB TRESS"). INVERCARGILL, November 27. Two prisoners at tho . lnvercargill -. reformatory prison attempted to escape on Tuesday afternoon. They were working in a concrete shod, and walked out when the warder, was engaged supervising tho loading of a truck. Th«y were seen by another warder who was posted on an elevated bridge. Ho called on them to stop or. he would fire. Ono prisoner threw up his hands , and stopped, and the other ran. Tho warder'fired, and the prisoner threw himself down in a ditch, and gave up the attempt. They will bo ' charged, with attempting to escape from custody.
