FIRES.

A tent at Lake Ellesmere, occupied by two fishermen named George Constance, junr., and Ernest Feast, was, together with its contents, • destroyed by fire on Sunday. The occupiers left, their camp in the morning and returned in the evening at 6.30, to find the placo burned. The tent, which had a solu chimney built at one end, contained effects to the value of £10 or £12. The fire, it is stated, occurred at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The matter was reported to Constable Moriarty, of Southbridge, but enquiries made so far have thrown no light on its origin. '
