THE BATTLE OF VLADOVA. ATHENS, November 25. Details of the battle at Vladova, preceding tho occupation of tho town of Fiorina, show that the Greeks defeated 20,000 Turks after three hours' fighting, 300 Turks being killed.
CHIOS OCCUPIED
CONSTANTINOPLE, November 25. It is reported that tho Greeks havo occupied Chios.
Chios is an island situated in tho JEgean Sea, opposite tho peninsula of Klazomenn, and midway between Mitylane nnd Icaria, which the Greeks havo already occupied.. It is well .cultivated, and yields delicious oranges, citrons, and lemons. Resin is extensively prepared (especially mastic), more than 20 villages haying no other industry than its extraction. It also possesses mines of antimony and quarries of beautiful variegated marble. It was taken by tho Turks in 1566 from tho Genoese.
