RIFLE SHOOTING.

CHRISTCHURCH v. AMBERLEY. The Christchurch and Amber ley Defence Rifle Clubs fired a match at Amberley on Saturday, conditions being ten men a aide and seven shots at 800, 500 and 600 yds. Tho weather was fine and hot, but in tho early part of the day tho light was difficult, keeping down the scores at 800 yds, while about midday tho steady easterly changed to northwest, which proved very tricky and difficult to judge. The scoring was very even, tlie Christchurch team winning by the small margin of 15 points. Riflemen H. Reynolds 95 and G. Waddington 94 shot best for Christchurch, and Rifleman N. McAdam 93 secured tho best total for Amberley. Tho visitors were hospitably entertained by tho Amberley men and their lady friends, and at the conclusion of the day President Lummis returned thanks for a very p'oacanl j outings and cheers wero exchanged.
