ALPHA SPRAYERS.
Tho exhibit of Alplm Sprayers by J. W. Wallace and Co., should be of interest to fruitgrowers and fanners, as this machine has an enviable reputation both as a fruit-spraying and lime-washing machine. It has many advantage*. over other types of sprayers, tho chief of which is the n.ethod of working. Tho Alpha is operated by compressed air, which is pumped into tho machino before spraying. The pressure thus generated is .sufficient to quite empty the machino without further pumping. This means a considerable saving of labour, and gives tho operator the freo use of one hand all tho time ho is spraying. There aro no working parts in the Alpha to get out of order, and tho chamber is adequately protected against corrosive {.prays. As a white-washing and disinfecting machine, tho Alplia is particularly effective, as it can whitewash six times as fast as a brush, and tho force of the spray forces tho wash into crack? and corner*- whero a brush could not reach. Almost all the leading English railways aro now using tho Alpha for lime-washing and disinfecting cattle trucks and buildings. A visit to the Alplia exhibit, whero the machines can Ik> Been working, will amply repay .Miyono in want of a lirst-class sprayer. Messrs It. AY. Horn and Co., 143 Tuam street, aro tho local agents.
