MACHINERY
It was not until yesterday the general public was afforded an opportunity of witnessing tho great advance which has been mado in milking and sheep shearing machinery, even since the last Christcliurch Show. Tho cow milking, and sheep-shearing machines, wero seen in full operation during the day, and numerous dairymen and pastorali&ts were agreeably surprised to sco that improvements had been made in theso two classes of mechanical appliances. It was thought last year that no further improvement could bo made in tho devices for extracting from tho udder of a cow the last drop of milltwice a day without doing somo injury to tho milk veins of the animals. Still this problem has been solved, and the milking machine of to-day absolutely surpasses the very best of hand milking.
