It is reported that tho Vail;committed suicido in consequent)© of a divergence of views with tho civil and military authorities in regard' to tho -surrender of the town. During the confusion over the sinßing of tho Feth-i*bulend, the Turks fired ou a Turkish schooner, killing several of thoso on board.
