EDGEWARE CLUB. Tho annual, social in connection vriih the Eufeware liowlin**- Club wa„ held in the St. Albana Youn-_* Men's Hall, Madras street, on Friday evbrin<_, when, in spite of the bad weather, the attendance was- very • Batisfac'tory.. The proceedings Btarted with progressive -euchre, twenty-eight tables being occupied, representing 112 players. The prizes, wor-e presented by Mr C. E. Otley, tho pre--sident of the club, as follow:—I-adies: Pirst prizo Mrs P. Matson, £*econd Mj3 Marshall. Gentlemen,: Ifirst prize Sr "W-. Hardie, second Mr Campboll. About half-past ten o'clock dancing was commenced, and kept merrily goin-f until a little after ono o'c'.ock. During tho evening vocal and instrumental items were contributed by Mepdames Williams and Middlcton, Miss Cowdory, and Mesar3 Dickson und Malcolm, and Miss Emmio Moore danced ii Scotch reel, very neatly. The .Thursday pennant, which waa won by the Edgewaro Club during the past season, was presented by Mr H. J. Otley, on behalf of the Linwood Club, being the holders for tho previous season, and this, was acknowledged in suitable terms by Mr C E. Otfcy. A very pleasant evening'was brought to a closo by the singing of "Au'.d Lang Sync.* 1 ' Mr B. Moore carried out the duties of M.C. in a satisfactory manner.
