HEAVY GALE AT NELSON.
(PHESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NELSON July 15. A south-east gale—the worst experienced tor some years—was experienced to-night. During the height of the .Wow a small tower on the Methodist Church was demolished. Trees were unrooted, and much damage was done to fencing.
(SPECIAL TO " TITE PRESS-") DUNEDIN, July 15. Though thero is much water lying in the paddocks on the Taieri plain, and a good flow in the rivera and creeks, the position to-day is not alarming to settlers. The rain last night did not swell the rivers to any great extent.
