THE COUNTRY STOREKEEPER NEEDS THE MOTOR-CARRIER.
In most retail businesses the cost of delivering parcels is one of tho important items'of expense, and especially is this tho caso in regard to tlio country store, whero deliveries have to be mado over a very large area of country. Even with the best of horses and the lighest of vehicles, tho -delivery rounds tako a long timo, and the distance covered is limited by the capacity of the horse. The big delivery firms in London . found out long ago that horse-van delivery was too costly. Thoy ascertained that the cost was Cd per mile. The motor-carrier took the place of th© horses, gave twice as fast a servico, and covered twice as much ground, at a cost of only Id per mita. W© have just received delivery of a light but- voo* strong motor-carrier, which carries goods up to half a ton, under oover. The engine is a 6-8 h.p., of simple strong design, and anyono could learn to drive the carrier in half an hour. It is very economical on petrol, running about 60 miles to the gallon, and tho tyres cost only £2 5s per cover. Thero is two gears, and the carrier will climb any hill. Tho Melbourne Post Offico is using ten of these carriers at present. The price is low, £145, but the carrier is guaranteed to do its work much faster and much cheaper than any horse-drawn vehicle. Call and sco the new type of carrier for yourself. Adams, Ltd., Agents for the "Auto-Carrier," High street, Christchurch. 6
