AKAROA.
At tho fortnightly meeting oi the Akaroa Borough Council, the Mayor (Mr G. Aimslrong) and Crs. Newton, Munro, Lewitt, Vangidni, Walker, Halliday. and Narbey were present. .Mr Rhodes, M.P.. wrote, notifying tho Council that tho Department were forwarding a bracket clock for the new Akaroa post office. Tho District Health Officer notified that he would attend to sanitary matters in connection with the borough. On the recommendation of the AVorks Committee, it was resolved to accept Mr J. Glymin's offer of 6ft of land to widen Johe street, tho Council to erect a fence a.s compensation for land given. Attention v.-ps directed to tho dilapidated post *Tic'o, and it was resolved that Mr Rhodes be asked to approach the Department, asking that tenders be called for tho new building as soon as possible.
