DULL HUMOUR.
•MR FISHER FXPLAINS A STATEMENT. United Press Association —By Elocirio Telograpn—Copyright. (Received June 12th, U. 20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, June 12. Mr Fisher, Federal Prime xMinister, states that his remarks made on Monday, must not bo taken as an announcement of tho Federal Government's policy. "It was rather a dull bit of humour on my part," he says. "I meant that if we don't aim high, wo won't do anything." The Labour Party's resolution, favouring a six-hour day and a five-day week, was described by Mr Fisher as a modest ideal. When asked if ho agreed with tho suggestion ho replied:—"'An eminent man once said, 'Hitch your waggon to a star.' I bolieye in trying to reduco the drudgery of lifo"
