They stated that a first-class return fare between Lyttelton and Christchurch was Is 4d, whilst between Lytte'.ton and Opawa, a distance of four miles less, it was ,1s Gd, and between Woolston and Lyttelton, a distance of six miles less, the fare was the same as between Christc'hurch and Lytt-elton. The same existed with β-egard to second-class fares.
