ATTITUDE OF AUOKLAND TRAMWAY MEN.

AUCKLAND, May 30. Two meetings of tho Tramway Union wero held to-day regarding tho striko levy of tho Federation. At the morning meeting it was decided that iv tho event of tho day shift men attending tho night meeting approving of a levy being mado, a ballot of the whole Union should bo taken, not as to whether they should pay a 10 per cent weekly contribution, but on tho proposal to contribute 2s per week each. Tho morning meeting also decided that the sum of £40 cash in hand from tho previous levy should bo handed over to tho Waihi Miners' Union.
A motion was put to tho meeting "to tho effect that all contributions from members usually going to tho Union's funds should for the next'three months bo' given to the Waihi Minexs' Union in a lump (sum fortnightly." After discussion, however, this resolution was deferred to a future meeting.
Tho evening meeting confirmed tho above proposals.
