CLAIMS AGAINST COMPANIES
(PEES! ASSOCIATION TELEOKAV.I REEFTON, May 30. •Mr Fagan, secretary of tho Miners' Union, has lodged a. claim for tho cancellation of a suit against tho Consolidated Goldfiekls Company on account of tho undermannmg of the Wealth of Nations mine, and also against the Blackwatcr Mines, Ltd.. for undermanning tho Blackwater mine. Tho cases will bo heard next Thursday.
A number of men are finding work in local industries, and tho growing coal export trade of Beef ton is giving an outlet for several local married men.
Business is naturally seriously affected, but very few, if any, married men havo permanently left tho town.
