ASHBURTON, May 30. The ballots for sections in the Avenel and Valverde Estates took place at the Courthouse to-day. For tho seventeen sections in the Avenel _ &k----tate there were forty-two applications, ■while the cloven Valverde sections drew forty-nine applications. Tie results of the ballots ivere :—

Although thoro were apnlicaiifs for every section numbers 4, 9,* 10, 11, 13. lo and 16 in the Avenel Estate, and Nos. 6 and in tho Valverde. remain unallotted, oiring to applicants for them beins successful in gaining other sections ir. tho ballots. These will be allotted later.
