JIALSWELL. The Halswell County Council met on April 30th. Present —Messrs Gilmour (chairman), Mcrten. and Murphy. Correspondence wns received from the Xcv , Zealand Insurance Company it , return. —To be attended to. From Mrs Hayes regarding school footpaths. — Cierk to attend to tha matter. From Tramway Board, arranging . meeting of bodies interested in tram to Halswell quarries: The chairmnu had attondrd the mooting, which wns adjournrd forfurther lntormatioii. From Inspcct<»r of Health, stating that complaints were still being made about the foul matter emptied into the channels on Tankerville β-oad. and asking if it was the wish of the Council that the offenders be compelled to deal with the matter on their own sections.—To be; informed that thnt is the wish of tho Council. From Minister of Internal Affairs regarding Local Government Bill, stating that he had nsked the Xorth Canterbury Hospital Board to call a meeting of delegates from counties and lxjrough.s to elect seven representatives to a conference to lw. held in Wellington to discuss tho Mill. —Received.. i
