He touched briefly on tho i ways of the anti-militarist, and in con- j elusion expressed tho hope that r.!! would unite to prepare io bo able to j defend the Dominion. f Mr J. J. Dougall expressed h<l j pleasure at having been invited to j meet racu who had fought for their | Empire. At the present it depended j largely on tho youiiK men of Xew Zca- j land to say what their country would ; do in the matter of defence. Ho be- j lieved tLafc they .should not support those ;>oople who were antagonistic.to a system of training men /r>- home defence. Colonel Cooper declared that Sur-geon-Major Fonwich was ono of those who were doing good work in showing ; youtlis that training v.as ;:ood for j them.
