RAIL WAY POST BOX.
TO THE EDITOR OP '*TH_ PRESS." Sir.—l would feel .personally obliged to our new Postmaster-General if he will in.-tj-net his officers to make provision for the posting of letters at the railway station after the General Post Office mail has closed. There is a letter box at the railway station for late foe letters, but for some occult reason this is often dosed. This was the case on Easter "Monday, when 1 wished to pevst some letters for the Melbourne mail at tho station, and got there at 11 a.m.. only to find the boxclosed and no train on the station, as the -race trains were occupying the platforms. Surely it is a small "tbiug to havo the box at the station open at all times for lato fee letters. This is not an..isolated case, nor was I the only unfortunate. —Yours, etc., A. R. PONDER. Rugby street. Christchurch, April 9th.
