A four days' carnival, under the auspices of the Leeston Catholic Church, was opened on Saturday night by Mr R. Heaton M.P. Then* was a large attendance id all denominations from all parts of the district, ami large business was done. 1 ho amount taken during the lirst two days tor admission was £24. Ihe stall-
holders wore as follows:— So. 1 work stall, Mesdames T. lloiley and M. Slattcrv; No. 2 work stall, Alesdames MoCloy ami J. Hollcy; refreshment stall, Mesdames F. .1. Jlolley and T. McEvedy ; lolly and produce stall. Airs 1. O'Bo'vlo aiid Misses Bohan (3), and Stapl'et-on Ci); bran tub, Miss Alice Rvhii and Mr AA". Mohan; fortune-tell-ing doll, .Miss C. Grant; football kickin-- board. Mr I). J. .Ke.leb.er. The carnival closed last evciiin--, when the ilrawiii'' of the raffle;- took place.
