GREENDALE.
A .thunderstorm, accompanied by heavy rain, passed over the Grecndalo district on Tuesday afternoon. The ruin did not last Jong before clearing off. but towards evening the clouds banked up from the south-west and steady rain set in. The rain Avill do an immense amount of good.v as in consequence of the dry weather of tho 71:1 st few weeks the land is very dry on the surface, and great ilifiicultj- is being experienced nt ploughing grass land. The* most of the threshing is now finished, anil the potato crops are about ready for lifting, and in tho course of a week or so the diggers will bo busy.
