TURKISH ELECTIONS
SWEEPING' VICTORY FOR THE .GOVERNMENT.
United Press Association—Br Electric Telegraph—Copyright CONSTANTINOPLE. April 9. The Committee of Union and Progress had a swooping victory at the elections. The Opposition has practically disappeared, and what is left merely consists of irreconcilable sections. The success of the Committee of Union and Progress is due to the stubborn resistance of the troops in Tripoli neutralising the earlier indignation against the Committee, combined with carefully engineered reports of Turkish successes.
