At the Libraries' Conference it was resolved:—'That the National Home Reading Union, in view of tho useful (work which lias been done by it, deserves tho support of this Association." "That the secretary be authorised to obtain literature from the United States suitable for circulation among librarians and associate.." "That tne Postal Department be ask>"J to allow reduced postal rates on bc.-ks sent from library to library." Approval was given to the principlo of co-operative book buying as tending to assist smaller libraries. Tho matter was remitted to the executive.

A paper on "Library Work for Children" was read by Miss Sievwrigbt. of tho Wellington Central Public Library. Another contribution on tiie same subject was furnished by Mr Elmerdorf, of Buffalo, New York. It was agreed that the best results of juvenile reading were attained by means of school libraries under tho directum of teachers.

Officers for the ensuing year were elected as.follow:—President, 'Mr A. R. Atkinson; vice-president*-, Messrs J. Craigie, M.P. (Timaru), T. W. Leys (Auckland), Robert McNab (Palmerston North), and J. Clark (Dunedin); committee, Messrs M. Cohen, C. J. Parr, A. H. Hindmarsh. M.P., D. McLaren, W. B. McEwan, H. Shaw, and W. J.
