SOUTHBRIDGE.
At the monthly mooting of the Sonthbridgo Town Board Mr Winter handed in his resignation as chairman of the Works Committeo, owing to his removal from Southbridge. He would retain his seat on the Board until tho end of tho present Board's term of offico, but his removal from the township would prevent him giving the cessary attention to tho duties of chairman of the Works Committeo. On tho motion of Mr Free, soconded by Mr Rowo, tho resignation was accepted and Mr Winter was accorded a vote of thanks for the manner in which he had carried out his duties. Mr Free was annointed chairman of tho Works Committeo. Tho chairman was nppointod to ropresent the Board on the Canal Commission conforenco.
