Tlie Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flow off a young: bird race from Kaikoura on Saturday. Forty-eight birds were cent, representing nineteen lofts competing. The birds were liberated off the Mokoia, seven miles out at sea at G. 34 a.m., in a light nor'-cast wind, which changed to a strong «cu'-west wind, which caused the birds to put up a slow velocity. The winner was Mr E. Eowe's Terror, which flew the distance of 101 miles 1263 yards air line in 4hrs 57min 36sec. The following is the Teautt : — E. Howe's Terror, 619vds per mm, A.
