The local wheat market is steady, with a good demand for prim© samples, which change hands chiefly at 3s 4dat country stations, though.occasional lots of extra prime bring a little more. Somo of tho grain is coming to hand m very soft condition, having been threshed out of stook before being really fit. Oats are now being offered rather moro freely, but the market is easier in consequenco of business with Australia having, for the time being, come to an end. Thpse buyers who havo filled their requirements are now not offering moro than ls lOd, and .ro not anxious to buy even at that figure. Others, who still require to secure supplies, arc giving a littlo more and for prime "A" grado up to 2s ,s still being paid at country stations. Thero is an improved enquiry for Algerians. . . Oafsheaf chaff is selling m limited quantities at 50s, at country stations. Thero is a fair amount of ryegrass offering, and average Hues mako fro .1 ls 9d to Is lid. Early varieties of potatoes arc selling at £2 10s and £2 los, at country stations. "Business in tho main crop of omo.ns has opened, and the price being pail is £5, at country stations. The crop is generally good, but is about a month later than usual, on account ot the- wet season.
