A man named William George Brett, aged .43 years, died in the Wellington Hospital on Saturday after tho application of an anaesthetic preparatory to an operation for tho removal of an abcess on the scalp. The coroner returned a verdict of death from heart failure. Thomas McGrath, who was taken to the hospital on Saturday in an unconscious condition, as tbo result of a collision between his motor-cycle and anotber machine, ha- recovered consciousness. It is not known yet whether or not his skull is fractured. Michael O'Brien, who sustained a fractured thigh on Saturday through a telegaph pole falling on him in iho Telegraph Department's yard, is showing improvement at the hospital.
