LAUNCH OF THE STEAMER EARNSLAW.
(special to "toe pbess") DUNEDIN, February 26. Tho how steamer i£arnalaw. for the Lake Wakdtipu service, has been launched. The Earnslawy yhich was built- by Messrs McGregor and Co., of Dunedin, is a twin screw steamer, capable of attaining a speed of 15 knots per hour, and is ICOU in length. The triple expansion engines have been designed by Messrs McGregor and Co. There will be accommodation for about 140 passengers and 60 tons of cargo. So far as can be ascertained, the Earnslaw (which ia the fourth vessel launched by Messrs McGregor and Co in two years) is the largest steamer ever launched in tho Dominion. .Running the full' length of tho vessel is a fine promenade deck for' saloon passengers.
