CYCLONIC STORM.
CHURCHES STRUCK BY LIGHTKI-w. United Press Association—By Electric , Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, February 26. A heavy storm was experienced yesterday afternoon, accompanied by a cyclonic wind and U 6evere lightning. Many boats capsized in the harbour, but no fatalities are recorded. Lightning struck St. Matthias's Church, Paddington, and set the roof on fire, but the brigade extinguished tho conflagration. The tower of St. Francis's Convent was struck, but tho damage done was slight. The tram lines were flooded, and traffic had to ba suspended for a time. Several cars were struck by lightning. HEAVY GENERAL RAIN. (Received February 26th, 9 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 26. Over three and a half inches of rain has fallen in the city since Saturday. The fall is general.
